Pandora|AL is an algorithm able to generate an infinite number of digital models that can be transferred – as STL files – directly to a 3D printer in order to “release” POT objects. The process is easy: the user defines a single planar curve together with the total height of the object, then the Pandora|AL algorithm generates, as output, a precise MESH model without any 3d manipulation or adjustment. The generation is driven by a set of random instructions and customizable parameters that constitute the POT’s DNA.
The Pandora|AL algorithm is interesting not only as a form-finding process that produces a wide variety of possible outcomes but especially for the ability to automatically generate refined objects starting from a single curve.
